Broome is the launch point for one of Australia’s most iconic 4WD adventures - the Kimberley. From red dirt roads and dramatic gorges to remote river crossings and turquoise coastlines, a 4WD journey from Broome offers raw landscapes, vast distances and unforgettable wilderness experiences.
Our Broome-based vehicles are fully equipped for extended remote-area travel and are best suited to dry-season conditions.

Sample itineraries:
5 days / 4 nights – Dampier Peninsula & Kimberley taste (minimum hire)
Day 1 – Broome → Dampier Peninsula Travel north along red dirt tracks toward the Dampier Peninsula.
Day 2 – Dampier Peninsula exploration Explore remote beaches, coastal cliffs and Aboriginal lands (permits required).
Day 3 – Dampier Peninsula → Broome Return south before heading inland toward the Kimberley.
Day 4 – Broome → Windjana Gorge & Tunnel Creek Begin your Kimberley journey with classic gorge country.
Day 5 – Return to Broome Final inland exploration before returning to Broome.
7–9 days – Gibb River Road highlights
Day 1: Broome → Windjana Gorge Day 2: Tunnel Creek → Bell Gorge Day 3: Bell Gorge → Manning Gorge Day 4: Manning Gorge → Mount Barnett region Day 5: Continue along the Gibb River Road Day 6–7: Gorge walks, river crossings and swimming holes Day 8–9: Return to Broome or continue east (conditions permitting)
10–14 days – Full Kimberley adventure
Day 1–3: Broome → Gibb River Road → central Kimberley Day 4–6: Bell Gorge, Manning Gorge, Adcock Gorge Day 7–8: Mitchell Plateau & Mitchell Falls* Day 9–10: Return south or continue east toward Kununurra Day 11–14: Extended exploration or one-way travel (seasonal)
Seasonal recommendations:
Best time to travel: May–September (Dry Season)
Wet Season (November–April): Most Kimberley tracks and national parks are closed due to flooding
River crossings, access roads and gorge tracks are highly seasonal
As a result, most 4WD self-drive travel from Broome operates during the dry season only
Depot, pickups & briefing:
Vehicle pickup and drop-off is at Broome Airport only
Transfers are available during office hours only
Broome → Broome hires only (5-day minimum) unless otherwise arranged
